-"There is not much we know about how the reality was truly created, some of us belive in the theory of the Big Bang, some other in the influence of an almigthy god, but that's only the most widespread ones, there are as many opinions as stars in the sky. Yet, we are not really concerned about it now, if it's so ancient that our current technology cannot decipher, we can only shrug and hope nothing comes from there to stab our backs.
What we know, is that at the start our worlds were alienated from each other. Every place was the center of the universe, and evolved on it's own accord, and all was... mostly well, some civilizations were crazy enough to delete themselves from the face of reality, sometimes pulling many others with them. But still, there was not much of a conflict (I'm talking about real conflict here, not petty squabbles for the control of a misserable planet)until the mentioned alienation was broken. Little by little, only a few at the start, but growing with time, the civilizations were able to come into contact with each other. And with that, conflict arrived.
I'll oversimplify here a demential war that plunged entire sections of the reality into the darkness, with countless alliances and betrayals, with moments of relative peace and moments of absolute chaos, with glorious heroes and undescriptable monsters. I'll just skip that, because we could spend years debating the ebbs and flows of this time of conflict, and it serves only as a mere background for today's subject.
Finally, the conflict subsided, and common laws were adopted by the emerging coalition that managed to overpower any other force and settle the tides of war. Economy, society and army of each world were regulated in a reasonably lax way, but anyone who refused to comply was quickly overpowered by the newfounded Time-Space Administration Bureu, the organism on charge of enforcing Reality Law. They left alone the worlds that wished so, with time, completely fading from their lifes, and simply watching from afar. They encouraged the relationships between the worlds that wished so, and ended up as some short of interplanetary police.
Still, even if they began taking that role as police the Bureau began to dedicate more and more effort exclusively to large-scale incidents, since it's not far fetched to say there are enough of those to leave any institution short-handed. For the more... local incidents, the Bureau even if reluctantly, left the stage to local heroes. Very diverse in upbringing or specifics, they managed to keep at bay the various menaces pending over each world, and the reality became quieter.
It wasn't until much, much later when this changed, the few of us present in the colision point cant really describe what we were witness of. The reality... broke. And something that wasn't there suddenly appeared. An entire world-fortress, fully armed with unknown technology and registering off-scales energetic emissions. It wasn't hostile, but refused to comunicate in any way. We were not equiped to try anything reckless, and had no option but to retreat.
Even now, we have come to know only somee little things about them. OVERLORD, the precursors of a collapsing reality looking for a new place to live. Hollow Stronghold is the name of their world-fortress, and they are so varied in shape and personality that seems strange to see them united. We dont know their exact numbers, nor the scope of their power. We dont know their leader, nor their final goals. We know nothing, and ignorance is a major weakness in any army"
